The following sections describe safety zones around San Clemente Island:
All waters of the Pacific Ocean surrounding San Clemente Island, from surface to bottom, extending from the high tide line on the island seaward 3 NM. The zone consists of the following sections:

(1) Section A
Beginning at 33o 02.05' N, 118o 35.85' W; thence to 33o 04.93' N, 118o 37.07' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 33o 02.82' N, 118o 30.65' W; thence 33o 01.29' N, 118o 33.88' W; thence along the shoreline returning to 33o 02.05' N, 118o 35.85' W.
(2) Section B
Beginning at 32o 57.30' N, 118o 30.88' W; thence to 32o 59.60' N, 118o 28.33' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 32o 55.83' N, 118o 24.22' W; thence to 32o 53.53' N, 118o 26.52' W; thence along the shoreline returning to 32o 57.30' N, 118o 30.88' W.
(3) Section C
Beginning at 32o 53.53' N, 118o 26.52' W; thence to 32o 55.83' N, 118o 24.22' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 32o 47.27' N, 118o 18.23' W; thence to 32o 49.10' N, 118o 21.05' W; thence along the shoreline returning to 32o 53.53' N, 118o 26.52' W.
(4) Section D
Beginning at 32o 49.10' N, 118o 21.05' W; thence to 32o 47.27' N, 118o 18.23' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 32o 48.38' N, 118o 31.69' W; thence to 32o 50.70' N, 118o 29.37' W; thence along the shoreline returning to 32o 49.10' N, 118o 21.05' W.
(5) Section E
Beginning at 32o 50.70' N, 118o 29.37' W; thence to 32o 48.05' N, 118o 31.68' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 32o 53.62' N, 118o 35.93' W; thence to 32o 56.13' N, 118o 32.95' W; thence along the shoreline returning to 32o 50.70' N, 118o 29.37' W.
(6) Section F
Beginning at 32o 56.13' N, 118o 32.95' W; thence to 32o 53.62' N, 118o 35.93' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 32o 59.95' N, 118o 39.77' W; thence to 33o 01.08' N, 118o 36.33' W; thence along the shoreline returning to 32o 56.13' N, 118o 32.95' W.
(7) Section G
Beginning at 33o 01.08' N, 118o 36.333' W; thence to 32o 59.95' N, 118o 39.77' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 33o 04.93' N, 118o 37.07' W; thence to 33o 02.05' N, 118o 35.85' W; along the shoreline returning to 33o 01.08' N, 118o 36.33' W.
(8) Wilson Cove
Beginning at 33o 01.28' N, 118o 33.88' W; thence to 33o 02.82' N, 118o 30.65' W; thence running parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 3 NM from the high tide line to 32o 59.60' N, 118o 28.33' W; thence to 32o 57.30' N, 118o 30.88' W; thence along the shoreline returning to 33o 01.28' N, 118o 33.88' W.

Warning: The Navy routinely flies UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS (UAS) from and around San Clemente Island. Many of these UAS's are small and near invisible to other pilots. Any SAFETY ZONE SECTION HIGHLIGHTED in red on scisland.org, generally also has hazardous airspace associated with it. Please keep all aerial fish spotters and other aircraft out of hazardous operations areas for your safety and the safety of others.
